"Education is the compass guiding humanity toward enlightenment, fostering values that sow the seeds of peace in every heart and mind."

The International Day of Education is annually celebrated on January 24. This year marks the sixth year of the celebration, under the theme of ‘learning for lasting peace’.

As the world is seeing a surge of violent conflicts paralleled by an alarming rise of discrimination & hate speeches. The impact of this violence transcends boundaries based on geography, gender, race, religion, and politics. An active commitment to peace is more urgent today than ever, education is central to this endeavor & learning for peace must be transformative to help empower learners with the necessary knowledge, values, attitudes and skills and behaviour to become agents of peace in their communities.

A focus on electoral literacy aims to make elections inclusive and participative.
